The Exhibition for Innovative Ideas for the

Fashion of the Future

Circle Shape Outline
What is the Circular Fashion Show

The Circular Fashion Show is an exhibition designed to explain the concept and principle of a Circular Economy to visitors. Using examples from the fashion and textile industry, it highlights problems and possible solutions (both small and large scale) that are already being applied or will be launched in the future.

The exhibition aims to create awareness of sustainability and circularity in an industry dominated mainly by Fast Fashion.

The Goal

It's time for a change! But the concept of a circular economy is hard to grasp for most of our society. In the exhibition, visitors are informed about the Circular Economy, given thematic insights and background information that they can easily understand. Awareness of and interest in topics such as sustainability and circularity is awakened and can then be deepened in hands-on workshops. In the context of events, there are opportunities to network, exchange and become active on a topic-specific basis and thus initiate actual projects for change.

Circular Arrow

The exhibition concept itself follows the cycle principle.

And also the materials are chosen for a possible reuse.

Concept

The exhibition is basically divided into three parts, whereby the individual modules are independent of each other and can be adapted depending on the available space and duration of the exhibition. The exhibition can be shown alone for the period of a weekend, for example, or in combination with a suitable supporting program over several weeks or months. Here we are happy to respond to your wishes!

01

What is the Circular Economy?

Principles - Problems - Approaches

02

What are sustainable solutions?

Innovations - Business Models - Products

In the first part, the term and principle of a Circular Economy are explained to visitors. Banners, films and interactive stations explain the circular economy in a simple way using the example of the textile industry, provide interesting background information and explain exciting and shocking facts.

At individual stations, visitors are asked (digitally and analogously) about their opinions and (consumer) behavior.

In the second part of the exhibition, our visitors will get solutions to the problems presented in the first part.

(Local) labels present their sustainable and circular products and concepts and show what is possible in the textile and fashion industry with the sustainability aspect in mind. For example, did you know that sneakers and bags can be made from corn and apple waste? Or that jewelry can be made from metal industry waste?

Credits

The creation of the Circular Fashion Show would not have been possible without the initiative of Öcher Lab Aachen and the input of Fashion Revolution Germany. The beautiful graphics were created by Studio Laura Asmus. The whole concept is by Anna Agtas who also curated the exhibition and created the side program that was shown at Öcher Lab from August to December 2022.
